| The
Senegalese born American Star Akon arrived Nigeria on the 7th of
July 2005 at about 6p.m. He was welcomed at the Muritala
Mohammed Airport Lagos by Bayo Odusami (Howie T.), the
Excecutive Director of Adrot Nig. Ltd. A
group of cultural dancers from South-South Nigeria were present
at the Airport to welcome him the African way. On the other
hand, the crowd that came to the Airport to welcome Akon |
| was
really awesome. Also present at the Airport were a group of
Nigerian journalist that came to cover his arrival. Akon having
arrived Nigeria with his Team were lodged at the Eko Hotel as
the show "AKON LIVE IN NAIJA" was to begin the next
day at the Ocean View Restaurant. The Show was successfully
promoted by Howie T.
of Adrot Studios. The following Naija Artistes performed
live alongside with Akon at the show; Da Natives, Faze, Rugged Man, Sasha,
Dare, Jazz-Man, P-Square, Asa, Nana King, D.J. Jimmy Jatt & Olisa
Nanya. |

Comedians like Basket Mouth
and Princess were also there at the
show to thrill the crowd. The Show which started on the 8th July 2005 in
Lagos was then proceeded to Porth-Harcourt the
next day the 9th of July 2005.The Show was indeed a great success as the
crowd that came had an exciting time with the awesome performance of Akon and
the Naija Artistes. The Security for both Shows was well planned and there
were no reports of incidences.
